The biodegradable speaker is nothing like the usual ones – the housing of the non-biodegradable speaker is made out of ABS plastic, which takes more than 500 years to biodegrade in the landfill. To communicate better for Hilti’s CSR, we use an eco additive to the ABS material to make the housing biodegradable and compostable according to the ASTM biodegradation standard.
